Water Marble - Accent Nails

But obvious, Water and Nail Polish have different densities and consistencies. So if you happen to drop nail polish into a bowl of water, possibilities of it floating on the surface are really high. Not all Nail Polishes float. You really have to try out all your polishes. Few might sink depending on the density and also the height you drop it from. And sometimes two colours also might not be compatible with each other (they might merge, or not spread).

Too much science? Yup, there will be. Trust me on this, water marble will take a few tries. The things you'll need are:
  • Room Temperature water
  • A bowl
  • Suitable nail polishes
  • Tape
  • Pin/Tooth pick
  • Ear bud
  • Acetone
I've failed a few times over the past years. But here's what it looks like when i succeed.
Here's a basic flower design.

STEP ONE
Tape up the surroundings of you nails. Bottom, sides and behind.

STEP TWO
Paint your nails with the lightest colour of you design. Let it dry completely.

STEP THREE
Make the design, like the GIF above.
REMEMBER, while making the design, wipe you pin on the tissue every time before going in the next time.

STEP FOUR
Dip in your finger at a 45 degrees angle into the bowl, nail facing down, depending on which part of the design you want. Let you finger stay in there for 10 seconds while you clean up the remaining polish from the surface of the water with an ear bud.
Carefully pull your finger out keeping it in the same angle
I couldn't film the dipping process. Sorry for that.

STEP FIVE
Remove the tape and clean up remaining areas with an ear bud dipped in acetone.

Now, here's what i did!

WARNING
A lot of nail polish will be wasted, But, it's totally worth it.

I'm sharing a YouTube link here which really helped me out.

Are you ready to try this pretty manicure out?
Happy nails to you!
