Ikat, or Ikkat, is a weaving technique used to pattern fabrics. They come in many pretty designs. A characteristic of ikat prints is an apparent "blurriness" to the design.
It's getting really famous in the nail art world as well. So I decided to try on out for myself, and of course, something I hadn't seen on any nail. I went for an elaborate one. Here, it is.

I got this amazing nail polish as a gift recently. It looks beige alright, but look what the macro lens revealed. Tiny glitter particles. *Lovestruck*

Let's get back to ikat.
I did manage to get a few good shots, where you can see the blurry effect.

I picked out this design from google and just tries on different sections of it on the accent nails. for the others I just went for the conventional ikat which you'll see on most nails.

Most of my clicks are over exposed this time. Sorry, my bad. But the design is pretty clear, so I just let it go. Better clicks next time, I promise.

Happy nails to you!

18th June marks the birth of one of the most talented musicians in history - Paul McCartney.
18th June is also the birthday of a character whose death made all Game of Thrones' fans want to not live anymore - "The King of the North" aka. Richard Madden.
AND
18th June is the day I get discounts in TGIF and my salon, and I get to do overdose on sugar. Yup, it's my birthday.

You know I do not leave any occasion behind to do my nails. So... here it is along with a sneak peak of my cake!

My sister loves simple and pretty designs. She's not as wierd as me. Lol.
We referenced a lot to get her the perfect design. And look what we came up with.

It's very elegant and pretty. A pastel colour with a dark colour, I was not too sure. But when it all came together, it looked good!

All you'll need is a big dotting tool, or the back side of a paint brush, and a thin paint brush. Whatever colour you pick for your flower, pick a lighter colour from the same family for the centre of the flower. Here's how it's done followed by the outcome.

Let me know what you think. Do give it a try!
Happy nails to you!

No, it's not a Taylor Swift inspired manicure. It's about blank spaces though.
This is actually called a Negative Space manicure, where you leave blank spots in your nail art so that your natural nails are exposed.

This week I have two of such designs, one with a light and one with a dark colour. Take you pick!

Here is the one with white. Turned out to be so pretty!

Next one is the dark one, which would totally compliment a rocker chick look.

So sing along to Taylor Swift and try this style. The results will be nothing but fabulous.

Happy nails to you!

I loved how my rose design from my previous manicure turned out. So I decided not to remove that and do the rest of my accordingly.
Check out the classic French manicure with rose accent nails.

How many times has this happened to you, that you just cannot concentrate on your work because a song is stuck in your head?
Well I'm suffering from that currently.

Don't judge me, but "Lean on - Major Lazer" is stuck in my head. Even when I was trying to think what I should do on my nails.

I've wanted to try this since over 3 years now! I'm not even joking.
This particular manicure is pretty common now. It's so cute and simple and it adds an edge to your simple nail colour.

Difficulty level - Medium.

Hi guys!
So I haven't been able to do my weekly post because I just attended one of my close friend's wedding. And oh my, she looked like a princess!
I had not witnessed a Rajput wedding before, so this was quite new for me. And also I missed out on a few functions due to a tight schedule.
But all that matters is I was there for her :)
All the best on the new journey. my friend!

And you think I was gonna give up this chance to do awesome manicures? Never!

I just need an excuse to do a fancy manicure. LOL

I tried to match my nails to my outfits. Let me know what you guys think.

Nail polishes, no matter how expensive and nice, will give up on you and chip one day. It can happen anywhere - while you're zipping your clothes or while you're doing the dishes.

Oh God! That looks hideous!
And we don't always have the time or patience to tend to this problem. 95% women roam around with chipped nail polish, until all of it comes off or there's so little of it left that they just scrape it off.
Yes, I am guilty too.

But how about we extend the life of your manicure with some nail art?

A very cute and classy design, kind of suggested by my boyfriend, but I will not get him full credit (Lol).
He told me to do the infamous tuxedo design. If you know me by now, I don't settle for the usual stuff. I had to do something more. So here it is - Like a Sir, and the LBD ;)

For all those here who don't know much about me, well, dance has been a major part of my life. It's like my escape from reality - my FREEDOM.

On that note, I would like to wish all of you a very Happy International Dance Day.

Express yourself and worship your body; it's your temple.

So I'm very late in posting this one. I did this manicure on Friday, when the movie released, but posting it on a Tuesday. So much for weekly posts :/ .

I watched to movie this weekend. And I really enjoyed it. The reviews say otherwise. But for a person who doesn't follow the comics, I think it was good!

I've used the decal technique, again. I realised making circles is not that easy. But I think it came out ok. There is a little room for improvement though.

Anyway enjoy this fun minimalist manicure.

Me and my friend, who is a nail art enthusiast just like me, decided to do her nails for her birthday.
After hours of testing and confusion and finding lost nail paints, we finally settled on an elegant lace design.
Check it out!

22nd April, every year, is celebrated as Earth Day. On this day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is officially the first day of spring. The heat is worse than the summers though. Global Warming I guess.

We are the only ones who can save the Earth, because it's the only place we've got.

This is what we all have been waiting for since last year. Game of Thrones - season 5!
And I think all of us have already seen the first four episodes already. And in just this much, there have been so many twists. But the sad thing is, our lives will be meaningless for the next month.
A moment of silence please...

And we're back.
A friend of mine suggested I do this. After one failed attempt, finally it's here.
Finally! Holographic nails! It was about time.

TADA!
This week's manicure is the popular Galaxy nails, with a little twist, coz I don't do normal.
I've take the liberty to add a neon sign just to add a little randomness to the manicure and my pinky has a galactic heart so that the different designs as a whole linked together.

Hey people...

Easter special manicure here!
I did this directly on my nails (no decals). So it's not perfect. But hey, no one walks around with a macro lens all day :P
Lol... Don't be afraid to make mistakes :)
Here Check it out...

Everyone by now should know that I am a cat-lover. And big cats seem to be everyone's favourite. Be it lions, tigers or Jaguars, these majestic creatures are the most loved and most feared. They are extremely powerful and can rip anything to shreds.

So when you get to see the cute and lovable side of these creatures, you can't help but love them.

So this post is for Karma and Labai. Karma (lioness) and Labai (lion) were rescued and given shelter by the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation. Unfortunately they passed away in October '14 and March '15 (this week).

I started following BJWT last year, I wasn't familiar with Karma. Her passing away made me sad, but didn't have as big an effect on me as Labai's passing away. I had literally seen him grow up. I know I sound stupid, because I have never met this lion or the founder, and they do not know I exist. But I am human, and I support them. I had seen him as a cub, how much care he was taken of, his struggles, felt like he was very close to me. So this news did affect me, and I did cry. I couldn't talk about it without choking up.

RIP King Labai. RIP Karma. Heaven will be a playful place with you two around. And thank you for melting my heart everytime. Thank you Papa bear.
